Whether it be by plane, train or automobile many students are planning their homework free summer accordingly as the semester ends and summer begins, but hasty planning can lead to a vacation full of headaches since most of us do not pack common sense.

Here are some common sense tips to make your summer vacation more enjoyable.

Here are some guidelines to get through airports more efficiently, now that delays are many and security is high.

Find out specific airlines security procedures usually, they can give you an idea on how long security delays may be.

Check weather and departure, arrival times before leaving to be aware of the possibility of impending delays, do not forget to verify this information in the cities you have a layover in.

Make sure to check or not pack sharp objects, especially if you are not sure.

If you bring presents to friends or family make sure to wrap them after you arrive. There is a possibility of security getting the pleasure of unwrapping your present, for obvious security reasons.

If you ladies use loose powder to keep the shine off your nose, it may be a good idea to check that.Yea, white powdery substances in carry on luggage would be a great way to cause delays.

Stay out of the ticket counter line. Buy your tickets online and they will mail it to you; it will usually be cheaper anyway, or an electronic ticket is even better.Checking your bags outside will be another way to stay out of long ticket counter lines.

Again plan ahead, it will save lots of time and headaches.

When you are approaching the security check point, be sure to have your boarding pass and identification in hand, not only will that save time it will also save you from the frustration of people standing behind you. Many times boots or shoes with heels have metal in them that will make the metal detector go off every time which may result in removing them, so wear slip-ons and do not forget clean socks. Also belts with large metal buckles should be avoided.

If every possible delay that could happen, does happen, getting to the airport two or three hours ahead of time will insure you do not miss your flight.

Be extra careful and patient while on the road.

Always remember other motorists around you may not be familiar with their route.

They may make mistakes or stop suddenly especially in another country, surely some of us have experienced car accidents in another country, what a mess.

Enjoying the beauty around you is an important part of the vacation experience, before you act make sure to find a safe place to pull off of the road as not to ruin your or anyone else’s good time by being inconsiderate.

If you decide to visit a place with lots of wildlife, watch for wildlife warning signs while you are driving, be extra careful in the early morning or dusk. These are the times when animals are most likely to be on the road.

Plan your route, getting stranded in unfamiliar territory is never fun.

When you are traveling it is useful to visit local tourist information centers where useful information such as maps and ideas on good places to find on you map along with the best time to visit your chosen spots.
