Linemen (from left) Timote Tukuafu, Sam Peterson, Gus Laguna, Chris Donnay, C.J. Blowvall, and Deuce Lutui paved the way for tailback Will Henry (center) to break several records in the game against Phoenix College.

Coach Rice hasn't had much to smile about this season with his MCC Thunderbirds achieving a dismal 3–5 record thus far.

But one quick mention of his star tailback Will Henry and he is all smiles.

Henry is having a phenomenal year rushing, which culminated in a 340 yard rushing game in their 39–14 victory against Phoenix College.

For those of you unfamiliar with football, that would be like finding an up front parking space in MCC's student parking it just doesn't happen.

During that game Henry scored 3 touchdowns and his 340 yards set a new school record for rushing yards in a single game.

This remarkable outcome has the whole country asking questions about this young star.

When Coach Rice was questioned about Henry he had this to say "Henry is a great kid he always answers 'yes sir' or 'no sir,' you couldn't ask for a better kid to be on your team."

When asked about his outstanding performance against Phoenix College Coach Rice stated, "Yeah, he had a great game, but he fumbled two times and you just can't do that.

I don't care if he runs for 500 yards and 10 touchdowns he shouldn't fumble the ball, so I've got some extra drills for him this week so he'll remember to hold on that sucker."

When Henry was asked about doing the extra work he responded jokingly, "As long as they make me not fumble the ball, I'll do all the drills."

If you think Coach Rice is being a little hard on Henry all you have to do is turn to the Thunderbirds statistics on the year and you'll understand why.

The Thunderbirds turnover ratio is -3 on the year.

Turnovers and penalties have plagued the Thunderbirds all season long. "That three turnover ratio is the worst in my career, if we don't turn the ball over we're a 6–2 team right now and trying to decide on what bowl game to go to!" Coach Rice exclaimed.

But amidst the chaos one man has stood strong averaging 145 yards per game.

Who is this army tank of a man; you guessed it Will Henry, or "OH HENRY," as is commonly echoed from the mouths of opposing teams.

Henry is on pace to break the school's single season rushing record this year.

With two games to go he is only 229 yards shy of the record.

And while Henry will be running his heart out these final two games there are 5 offensive linemen that will be paving the way helping him to get there.

When asked what they thought about Henry as a tailback, offensive tackle Deuce Lutui gave a huge grin and said, "I think he's the next Barry Sanders, but better."

Guard Sam Peterson said, "When you watch Will run its like poetry in motion."

The whole team and conference is full of praises for one Will Henry, so what does he think about all this commotion.

Henry when asked about the 340 yard game last week said quietly, "Well my O-line kept blocking for me so I kept running for them. I know they were tired but they kept blocking so I figured I should keep running."
