Rob Schneider is “The Hot Chick.”

A familiar and recognizable laugh cascades the room as a brilliant view captures a small audience. Coffee and water is poured through neat glasses and tea is served with shaking hands as a star in his own right takes a seat.

Rob Schneider has appeared in more than a dozen movies, mostly comedies and in doing so has captured more crowds’ admiration than he himself has ever imagined.

His amazing ability is to capture the viewers in a vulnerable moment and make their tears stream only as a gut full of the giggles erupts. Each laugh that escapes is greatly appreciated by this down-to-earth comedian.

Schneider sat down with the Mesa Legend for a roundtable interview where some endearing information was offered up as the main brunch entrée.

Q: What have you learned from playing a woman’s role in this film that you didn’t realize before?
A:
“I love women. I love women’s energy. I wanted to have fun with them, not make fun of them. I understood the potential pitfalls of this role, there were a lot.”

Q: Were there any challenges to playing a teenage girl, any studying done to prepare for the role?
A:
“I have been studying teenage girls all my life (laughing) most cases are settled, some still pending. Women are more emotionally available (than men). There is more innocence and gentleness, men are herky-jerky. There is smoothness to a woman’s movement.”

Q: How does it feel to be the funny guy in every movie you play?
A:
“When I was in fourth grade and I would get up in front of people and say the wrong words, I could either go with it or fight it, I decided to go with it and here we are 30 years later. It actually becomes an art form.”

Q: You co-wrote this film. How was that opposed to acting?
A:
“I think Hollywood misfires when they make a film that is in-organic. We wanted to make sure that all the characters have stories that work out. You see a movie, and there are women only in supporting roles, Adam Sandler doesn’t do that and I don’t want to do that either.”

As each new script formulates in the mind of this extremely humerous actor one can only hope for another bust your gut film like, “The Hot Chick” which opens on Dec. 13. Fans of Rob Schneider can keep their eyes peeled as a Duece Bigalow 2 may be in the works.
