A “doctor appointment” occurred on campus recently, at least that’s how President-elect of Maricopa County Community College District (MCCD) Governing Board, Ed Contreras described the Community Listening Session that took place in the Navajo Room on Jan. 23.

Pregnancy among teenage girls in the United States has been on a downward trend since the early nineties. Data released by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention showed that teen pregnancy rates fell to 48.5 births per every 1,000 females aged 15 to 19 years old by 2000. This was down almost 10 percent from the previous years which led to a record high of 62.1 births per 1,000 teenagers in 1991.

 

Clean elections, environment debated by Advocacy Network

On Jan. 29, the Arizona Advocacy Network presented a forum which overviewed the 2003 Arizona Legislative Agenda. The event was sponsored by the Arizona League of Conservation Voters.
