"Huzzah!" Knights, bring your Damsels
Make the trek to the Arizona Renaissance Festival. Arizona's festival is the largest of its kind anywhere in the nation. It is a time to partake in the 17th century atmosphere of a European country fair. Nearly 2,000 actors in costume and character roam the grounds adding their own brand of fun to the celebration. There is more than one days worth of shows and entertainment, beginning nearly every 30 minutes. The annual festival begins on Feb. 1 and is open President’s Day, Saturdays and Sundays through March 23. The Arizona Renaissance Festival is located near the foothills of the Superstition Mountains on State Highway 60, east of Apache Junction, just east of Gold Canyon Golf Resort. Adult tickets are $15 in advance or one $1 more at the gate. Children's and Senior Tickets are also available.

Grab your kilt and a pint of Guinness!
Come represent your favorite clan at the Arizona Scottish Gathering and Highland Games. The festivities will be kicked off with an opening ceremony at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 22. The fun doesn't stop there; the event includes piping and drumming, drum salute competition, athletic competitions, and sports. If that is not your thing, there will be food, beverages and merchandise vendors as well as re-enactment groups. This will all take place on the MCC main campus, tickets run $10 for adults each day. To purchase tickets for the two day event, call (602) 431-0095, or check out www.arizonascots.com.
