Students Observing and Scrutinizing

Do you feel that the designated smoking areas on campus are an adequate solution for both smokers and non-smokers?

“I think it’s a no-win situation. Ihate to walk through smoke, but there’s nowhere else for smokers to be.”	“Ilike the smoking areas that have good coverage, but the ones in the sun are just obnoxious. I feel like smokers are ostracized, like second-class citizens.”	“I’ve never experienced a problem. you just mind where you can’t smoke, and people don’t give you strife.”

“The majority of the people don’t want to smell the smoke. But I think there should just be one big spot where they all smoke, so you don’t smell it everywhere.”	“I think that a lot of smokers don’t follow the non-smoking signs, and it’s inconvenient for a lot of non-smokers.”	“I don’t smoke, so I’ve never really noticed a problem. It’s not an issue with me.”

“I think it’s fair that they have their own area. I don’t want to be around smokers because I don’t smoke, myself.”	“I don’t think they should be able to smoke at all at school. Second-hand smoke will kill you. If they want to smoke, they should smoke in the parking lot or at home.”
