Kennedy assassination examined in play
Myte Alleyne
Contributing Writer

Actors Theatre of Phoenix is debuting a contemporary mystery play known as Frame 312. The mystery, an unanswered question of our time, is who shot JFK and why?
The artistic director of ATP, Matthew Weiner, directed Frame 312.
The play revolves around Lynette and her 30-something-year secret.
While working at Life magazine, Lynette unwittingly saw the first showing of the famous Zapruder film about the Kennedy assassination, which allegedly proved the second-assassin theory.
Lynette is asked to deliver the film to the FBI. What she doesn’t know is that her boss has made a copy, and kept the original, which was later entrusted to her care.
The play’s Phoenix debut commemorates the 40th anniversary of the assassination.
“This is a historical play, something that is different from what I have normally directed. Many people remember where they were when JFK was shot. I was 3 and a half, and I remember my mother was really sad. Many people when they come to this show will bring their own biases, and that’s exciting. What they see will make them question,” Weiner said.
Frame 312 opened Halloween weekend and will run until Nov. 16.
The show has weekend as well as weekday engagements and also will be booking student matinees.
