Students fill the many open seats in the library and the computer
labs scattered along campus. The MCC Web Club has expanded in
the last few years as student population has grown. This club
was founded several years ago by the business department faculty
to meet students’ needs college-wide. This club offers many
opportunities for students interested in learning more about web
technologies. The program also helps to teach leadership techniques
and the skills to have a profitable career. A team of industry
experts helps supervise the club and lends their expertise. The
first meeting had over 30 attendees, which helped to expand the
club’s membership. Just last year the club was the winner
of the “Web Presence Award” from the nonprofit Kyrene
School Community Foundation for successfully developing a web
site. Meetings include covering the agenda and also organizing
workshops to help students navigate through things like the Internet
and Microsoft programs. Lo-An Tabar-Gaul, an adviser for the club,
said, “Students will have an opportunity to ask questions
about these programs at the meeting. As always, the meeting is
open to all students as well as the public.” For more information
