Letter to the Editor
This letter is in reference to the column Corey Hunt wrote, “Friends recall couple’s warmth.” I am Michael Gurrieri, uncle to Lisa Gurrieri, and I am the one who was appointed to handle the media, police and Yavapai County police department. I just saw the article this morning, as I was going through everything I could find related to the story, and found Corey’s article for the first time.
Do me a favor and give a pat on the back for a job well done. The article not only told the story, but did it with class. I have dealt with every news station from television to radio; and this is the first and only article I have read about it that was not blown out of proportion in some way.
If you would like to pass on my number to Corey, I would like to thank this person myself. If I haven’t learned anything but this one thing about the media: they blow everything out of proportion to make a story.
