Tired of scouring the internet to find that forgotten book from your childhood? If so, or if you’re an avid reader and need a change of pace for the new year, the annual Volunteer Nonprofit Service Association Book Sale may just be your ticket out of that dreary page by page slump. The VSNA is holding its annual used book sale Saturday, Feb. 7 and Sunday, Feb. 8. The sale will be held from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, and from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday.

Time to sit and stay: dog lovers unite…
The Schutzhund Dog Club will be having their weekly meetings Sundays, Tuesdays and Thursdays 7:30 a.m. through 11 a.m. The meetings will be held on the lawn east of the BP building. For more information please contact (480) 461-7457.

Dec. 17
A minor non-inury motor vehicle accident between two students occurred in Lot “C”, near the staduim. The dirvers exchanged required information at the request of College Safety.

Dec. 18
Three flat-screen computer monitors were reported stolen from the BP building. The thefts occurred between Dec. 17 and Dec. 19. No suspects are known at this time.

Dec. 19
College safety responded to the Navajo room of the Kirk Student Center following an event to pick up a found purse.
Upon checking the purse for identification, a dispatcher discovered a loaded semiautomatic handgun. Subsequent investigation revealed that the purse belonged to a student employee.
She was contacted and counseled on the district firearms policy. A copy of the report was forwarded to the office of the dean of students.

Dec. 19
A student made a delayed report of a theft that had occurred the previous evening. She apparently left he cell phone on the window sill of the information booth in the north visitor lot for a few minutes and upong returning, discovered it missing. No suspects are known.

Dec. 24
College safety officers noticed a blue Oldsmobile Cutlass parked in the west entrance near the hospital.
The vehicle was determined to be stolen and Mesa police responded to continue the investigation.

Dec. 26
A female non-student was found in the area of the BP building causing a disturbance.
Mesa police responded and assisted college safety staff in identifying the woman. She was escorted off campus by a Mesa officer.

Dec. 30
A male non-student was reported to be using the women’s first-floor rest room. He stated that he had made a mistake and apologized before leaving campus.
An employee of the Jazzland Café then reported that the same subject had been in the café earlier begging for food and money.
He returned to campus Jan. 2 and was asked to leave the college property by a campus police officer.
