Tax season is creeping upon campus like the deadlines
for drop/add. With stress climbing to new heights, ease the burden
and visit MCC’s new addition of free tax help. Mesa’s
Office of Human Services has partnered with MCC, Mesa YMCA and
Mesa Community Action Network to provide four Volunteer Income
Tax Assistance (VITA) sites for students as well as the community.
This unique pact is an effort to educate low-income individuals
and families about the Earned Income Tax Credit, this to help
them collect up to thousands in different tax credits. With a
little extra help in a tough time, these volunteers are trained
to help tax payers file federal and state returns for free.VITA?will
be visiting from Feb. 7 through April 10, just before taxes are
due. Be sure to bring identification and all wage statements.
