Ozzie and Harriet present…
Through May 2, the Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Arts is hosting
an “At Home with Ozzie and Harriet” Exhibit. On display
will be various memorabilia from the 50s, including Dick and Jane
books, some weekly readers and a prized 1959 El Camino.
The exhibit will post some interesting sights, for the enjoyment
of an older generation and the amazement of a new generation. With
more memories than one can swallow two trips may be worth the effort.

Year of the monkey…
Feeling like your karma could use a boost? Join the paddy wagon
and take a trip to The Bamboo Club in Phoenix. The club is hosting
a Lucky 8 Dinner celebrate the Chinese New Year.
It will include the traditional Lion Dance and will have over seven
extravagant courses. The menu will specifically feature items that
by virtue of their name are eaten to invite good luck, and the dinner
is sure to bring your family together. Reservations are limited

Fair for whom…
The Scottsdale Center for the Arts will be hosting Sunday A’Fair
Feb 2. The event will be held at the center and will include Fiesta
Scottsdale, and NosotroSound and Los Compas performing onstage.
There will also be many arts and crafts as well as quite a few hands-on
activities for children. The fair will be a good family event for
the new year. Public incourged to attend and bring boredom with

Art tour…
The Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art will be holding Studio
Art Tours. This event will be a series of guided tours of local
art studios. Meet established and emerging artists and experience
the creative process first hand. This will include transportation,
breakfast and lunch. Registration is required so hurry, the sessions

Have you heard…
The Heard Museum is hosting a new exhibit titled
“Walter Wooten: From a Visit to the Louvre.” This is
the second exhibit in the Artspeak Trilogy and will feature over
six classical paintings by Santa Fe artistic Walter Wooten, who
is of Choctaw heritage.
This artist is known for presenting highly psychologically charged
questions to his viewers. The exhibit run until October 2004. Wooten’s
art is formed from the realities of biracial tensions he lived through
as a young boy and well into his teen years. In art he sought refuge.
