OK, one more quiz: What did President Bush say about the economy during his latest visit to the Valley? Why did the 15-nation Caribbean Community recently refuse to acknowledge Haiti’s U.S.-backed interim government?

4-Year degree talks keep student in mind

While some argue that a four-year degree program is not right for MCC and other schools in its district, the idea is reasonable and should be discussed.
The idea was proposed by state Rep. Russell Pearce, R-Mesa. Community colleges would have the opportunity to award bachelor’s degrees in fire science, nursing, law enforcement and education – four key areas of need in Arizona.

As troops die, Bush, Kerry argue old wars

History can often shed light on the future. What remains to be seen is if the future president will be affected by military history.
Democratic frontrunner John Kerry and President George W. Bush attempt to personally avoid the issue of military service, while followers of both have been using the candidates’ participation in Vietnam as political weapons.
