Car not running? No cash for gas? Now you have a new reason to ride your bike to class. Valley Bike Week, April 17 through April 25, will let any person riding his or her bike around town be eligible to win round trip tickets for two. Each time you ride your bike you will be entered to win. The event will start at the Bike Swap Meet in the Phoenix Municipal stadium. Activities that will be offered include the Glendale Family Bike Ride and a helmet raffle benefiting Phoenix Children's Hospital Safety House. The week also features Capitol Ride, in which state legislators will ride from Patriots Park to the State Capitol to help raise awareness about Bike Week and bike safety. April 21 will mark Bike to Work and School day. The Bike Week signature event, Bike to Bank One Ballpark, will be April 25. This family fun ride is a three-mile ride from Margaret Hance Park to the Diamondbacks game. For more information, please contact MCCCD’s Trip Reduction contact Karla Pace at (480) 731-8832.
