College tuition prices cheapest in Arizona

How does Arizona add up compared to the rest of the country in terms of tuition? In reference to statistics derived from all four regions of the country, with the inclusion of five major universities and four major community colleges, tuition, location, size of campus and living expenses must all be taken into consideration when choosing the right school.
According to the Central Florida Community College official website, the average in-state student in the Southeastern part of the country will pay $60.25 per hour, with most classes being three to four credits. A non-resident will pay $226.65 per credit hour. That means a full time student will pay $723 for a full time (12 credit hours) schedule.
For a Florida State University resident student, tuition is $3,038, (which doesn’t include campus housing), $4,170 for food (meal plan) and about the same price for books and supplies. Overall, the average cost a year would range from $10,971 for residents to $23,477 for non-residents.
The north-east and mid-west hold some of the most prestigious schools in the country. Boston University is ranked one of the top schools in terms of education, but this high ranking definitely comes with a price tag.
Even though tuition is, on average, $29,988 annually, the university still enrolls about 15,780 students per year. In the mid-west, according to the University of Chicago’s official website, the University of Chicago is located in the heart of Chicago but has more of an urban setting, with an average of about 4,325 students a year. Tuition cost only about $2,000 less than Boston, at $27,324 per year; all of which does not include books/supplies, food and living expenses.
The Community College of Philadelphia surprisingly had relatively low expenses when it came to tuition. For a Philadelphia resident, it is $97 dollars per credit hour, $194 for other residents of the state and $291 per credit hour for non-resident students. Transportation averages about $680; books and supplies are anywhere from $575-750. Meals range from $450-500 a year.
The University of Washington enrolls about 2,600 students a year with in-state tuition being as low as $4,458 a year and all campuses located in major metropolitan areas.
Mesa Community College is the lowest when it comes to community colleges, with the tuition rate of only $55 a credit hour for in-state students and only $80 per credit hour for out of state.
“Just because costs are lower, it doesn’t mean the educational standards are any lower than any other major community college around the country,” said Skye Long-Bailey, who is a Student Financial Technician at MCC. “Educational standards are just as high and less tuition has little to do with it.
