The ASMCC (Associated Students of Mesa Community College) is back once again to lead Mesa Community College into another school year. The student body selected this year’s Executive Board last spring which consists of four officers that are responsible for the management and production of the ASMCC. They strive to promote a democratic form of government and unite the school in order to accomplish this goal.

Book refunds...
Sept. 7 is the last day to exchange books or recieve 100 percent refund at The Textbook Company which is located across the street from MCC on Southern Avenue. In order to recieve the 100 percent refund, students must present their reciept, Fall 2004 schedule, and a current picture ID. In addition, new books must still be in new condition, barcodes and stickers must be in place, books wrapped in plastic must be unopened, and if the books were paid for with a credit card, the same card must be present at the time the refund is given. No refunds will be given on personal use books, lab manuals, supplies, books posted “No Refund,” and books without barcodes and stickers. Calling all actors...
The Arts Department will be holding auditions for future plays, small music theatre singing, and ensamble dancing starting August 24. Preliminary auditions for The Secret Garden will take place on Aug. 25 at 2 p.m. and callbacks will be on Aug. 27 at 2 p.m. Standing Room Only (Music Theatre Ens.) Auditions will be on Aug. 24 at 3 p.m. and multiple calls will be disclosed later.

July 29
College Safety officers discovered two flat screen computer monitors missing from an unsecured room in the EF building. There are no known suspects at this time.

Aug. 2
A student reported that person(s) unknown stole several of her personal belongings from a locker in the women’s locker room while she was in her class in the gym. The victim reported that she may have left her locker unsecured.

Aug. 2
A Jazzland Cafe employee reported that between 7:15 a.m. and 12:30 p.m., person(s) unknown broke out the driver’s window of her green GMC Yukon while the vehicle was parked in lot A, north of the library. No items were stolen. A review of the cameras in that area yielded no results.

Aug. 2
Two employees found a marijuana cigarette on the floor of the Kirk Center. The cigarette was turned over to a police officer. No suspect(s) are known.

Aug. 4
College safety officers responded to a disturbance in an EF classroom. It was determined that a student was arguing and using profanity toward an instructor as a result of a test grade. The student was sent to the Dean of Students office.

Aug. 9
An employee reported that some time within the past two weeks person(s) unknown removed more than $200 from her desk in the Math Department.

From July 29 through Aug. 9, there was one request from medical assistance involving a student. The patient was transported by ambulance to an emergency medical facility.
In addition, 18 warnings and eight traffic citations were issued.
