Parking and increased tuition were among the topics discussed at an open dialogue that featured Rufus Glasper, chancellor of the Maricopa Community College district.

Spring breakers to party despite danger warnings

This spring break many students will be enjoying their time off by booking rooms south of the border, despite a University of Arizona Police Department announcement, asking tourists to refrain from visiting Mexico this March.
The report states that visitors commuting through the northern borders of Mexico avoid travel due to “violent criminal activity increased as a byproduct of war between criminal organizations struggling for control of the lucrative narcotics trade.”

Thunderbird hardwood star Quinn Barfield has been named co-Arizona Community College Athletic Conference player of the week, for the week ending Jan. 30.
Barfield averaged 26 points per game and scored a season high 30 points in a win against Yavapai.
Barfield is in his first year with the Thunderbirds following his service in the Marine Corps.

With the increasing population at Mesa Community College, parking becomes more and more sparse, and pedestrian activity rises. However, the impatient and disrespect of both pedestrians and drivers alike, are the makings of a potentially disastrous occurrence.
