Spotlight

Arizona has been a hot spot for local bands to get a big break. Now, the New Times Music Showcase will be celebrating its 10th Anniversary on April 17. Many names including Jimmy Eat World, Gin Blossoms, and Maroon 5, will all be playing at the same Showcase where they got their big breaks.
This year, a number of new upcoming artists will get their shot at fame as the performances will be held all along Mill Avenue. Tickets are $8, and provide access to the bars and venues that the bands will be playing at, as well as in the Trails parking lot at 24 W. Fifth St.
Phoenix Body Positive, a Valley-wide organization that helps individuals with HIV, will be receiving a portion of the profits collected. The organization helps HIV infected people live positive lives through education, family support, early intervention, and research services. This day-long event will showcase approximately 35 new bands.
