Americorps is an organization that has been running on campus for the past two years and is sponsored by the Center for Service Learning. Its core purpose is to supply students with the opportunity to earn more money for college tuition and qualified student loans through the act of giving back to the student’s community with service learning. Students who are interested in this program must sign up for one term within one of the three goal areas.

On Sept. 20 there will be a Clubs Carnival held at Red Mountain between 10 a.m. and 12 p.m. Come and find out what clubs are available on campus.

Calling all readers...
The Center for Service Learning needs students who are interested in participating in literary tutoring and mentoring for younger students who are striving to reach their full potential. The schools include Adams Elementary School, Mesa Arts Academy, and CARE Partnership.

Aug. 25
A student reported the theft of his secured BMX bicycle from the bike rack in the southwest area of lot C, near the tennis courts, by suspects unknown between the hours of 6:40 and 9:40 p.m.

Aug. 27
A former student was arrested by a college police officer after she refused to leave the Financial Aid office. The student is under investigation by the US Department of Education for obtaining aid money fraudulently. She was booked into the Mesa City Jail.

Aug. 30
A student reported that person(s) unknown broke into his 1998 Honda Accord while it was parked in lot E, south of TC, in an apparent attempt to steal the car.
