Women's soccer to 5-1; top Phoenix College

Mesa defeated Phoenix Coll. 5-0 on Sept. 17. Mesa improved to 5-1 on the season as Heather Perry scored three goals.
Mesa went scroreless in the first 18 minutes of the game but scored 4 goals before the half. Mesa’s Heather Perry gathered her third hat trick of the season. “We played a good game at a good pace” offered Perry, a freshman from Sandy, Utah.
Mesa dominated the game with their stellar defense limiting Phoenix to one shot on goal while controlling the ball most of the game. Mesa head coach Tim Barmettler, was pleased with his team’s performance and praised his team’s efforts saying, “Phoenix College is a good team and it was a real good performance by us. I’m proud of the girls, they played really well.”
