Spotlight

Grounds for Thought is helping the musically inclined students across campus get their name heard in the public. From now until the end of the year, the popular coffee shop will present live individual singers and bands to perform in the lounge of the coffee shop. This event is being sponsored by Grounds for Thought and Student Services, and will be taking place Monday through Thursday from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., every week until the end of the school year so long as students want to perform for their peers. All students need to do to get on the list to sing, is send in a demo tape. The sponsors for this year-long event are looking for any individual singer or group band featuring any type of music. The only requirement is that the music be clean and free from any obscene language that would be offensive to students or faculty. Previous singers have been Leon Santiago along with the group, Lady Elaine and Friends, performing on seperate nights. During the performances, the coffee shop will be offering specials to students wishing to listen to the bands. As of now, the offer is fifty cents off any grande size drink, but the offer may change throughout the school year. For more information, contact Jared Castro at (480) 461-7897.
