Perfecting a style is not impossible when hampered by a budget if trendsetters know where to shop. The mall may not seem like an option, but there are those exciting occasions when stores like Dillard’s, Macys, or Robinsons May, hold a clearance extravaganza. Events of that magnitude come around every season’s end (or beginning), and sometimes randomly, but always on holidays.
Now, even though some savvy shoppers have the stamina to await a clearance occasion, there are stores in the mall that cater to the young, trendy, and tight-fisted, in need of fashion now. Stores like Charlotte Russe, 5 7 9, Forever 21, and Wet Seal, specialize in keeping the latest styles in stock and usually under $30. Other pricier stores like Abercrombie&Fitch, Buckle, and Torrid, do not advertise great buys at low prices but they do have those amazing clearance and reduced price racks for the money conscientious.
For the die-hards ready to sift through rows and racks of trendy and designer garments, look no further than across the street, actually kitty-corner, to find Name Brand Exchange. No, it is not like Ross or TJMaxx, both of which are excellent hunting grounds, Name Brand Exchange targets college students looking to buy anything and everything. This means they carry Volcom, Abercrombie&Fitch, Diesel, Enyce, Baby Phat, Buffalo, and a list of other designer brands that can cost from $40 to $200 dollars in retail stores. The reason they can sell these fabulous items at low low prices is because the store buys slightly used, never torn or damaged, clothing that is currently in season (current meaning six months to a year of the items debut in retail stores). Name Brand Exchange also has an advantage over most retail and wholesalers because they offer trade-in clothing, and give something worth selling and they will give you cash or store credit.
Name Brand Exchange buys some items from freelance wholesalers, so not all the clothes in stock have had previous owners. If purchasing clothing once belonging to someone else is not an option, Nordstrom’s Rack holds tons of treasures. Imagine that dress to die for displayed in Nordstrom’s window for $100, now imagine going just a little ways down the road and finding the same dress for half the price. It is possible. Nordstrom’s Rack is located on Chandler Blvd, down the street from Chandler Fashion Square. Nordstrom’s Rack sells all unsold and overstocked items from its sister store and their prices are reduced and reduced and reduced even more.
So, if fashion on a budget is the only way to create a trendsetting style, there are many locations in which couture can be bought without breaking the bank.
