T-Birds advance to the Nationals

For the second straight season, the MCC women’s soccer team earned an invitation to the NJCAA National Tournament.
By stringing together three consecutive shutouts, the T-Birds, ranked #6 nationally, were crowned ACCAC Conference and NJCAA District Champions.

2004: Year of broken streaks

The beginning of 2004 offered many streaks that gave little hope for hopeful outcomes of various communities. As the end of 2004 is on the horizon, change is running rampant for the future hopes of these rejuvenated programs.

The lady Thunderbird basketball team started the season a little rough, but are preparing for the upcoming games.
The first game was against New York’s Monroe Community College. At the end of the game, it was Monroe 84, Mesa 24.

Football standout
Sophomore runningback Austen Collins leads the NJCAA in rushing with 1,294 yards in nine games. Collins has a 6.6 per carry average, with zero fumbles to go with 209 carries on the year also hauling in another seven receptions for 89 more receiving yards out of the back field. Several division one colleges are interested in Collins.
