Mesa Community College is giving students a chance to repair other students’ cars for next to nothing. The Automotive Technology Program is in need of automobiles to inspect and service during the course of this semester under the supervision of trained faculty members.

Fun, food, and art
The Mesa Arts Center will be holding their annual MACstravaganza!3 art sale Nov. 28, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The event will display pieces of work created by students and their instructors.

Break a leg
The Theatre Arts Department will be putting on another play entitled, “The Lion in Winter.” The play is written and produced by James Goldman. The event will be held in the Theatre Outback Dec. 2-4, at 7:30 p.m., with a Sunday matinee Dec. 5, at 2:00 p.m. All are welcomed...

Oct. 13
A student reported at 10:00 a.m. that his bike was stolen from the EF building sometime within the prior 18 hours by person(s) unknown.

Oct. 14
A minor non-injury motor vehicle accident occurred in the visitor parking lot when a non student backed into a parked car. Required information was exchanged.

Oct. 14
College Safety investigated at 2:00 p.m. an allegation of stalking by a female student. The suspect in the case was contacted by a campus police officer and warned about his actions.

Oct. 16
Two students were involved in a physical confrontation north of the gymnasium during homecoming activities. Mesa Police and a campus police officer responded.

Oct. 16
A non student reported minor damage to his vehicle’s front spoiler when he pulled up to a parking block in lot C at 8:35 p.m. A piece of protruding rebar apparently damaged the spoiler.

Oct. 17
A non student apparently suffered a heart attack while running laps on the stadium track. He was treated at the scene by Mesa Fire paramedics and transported to an area hospital. He passed away the following day.

Oct. 18
A student reported that she had observed a subject leave the cafeteria without paying for his food. The subject was located by a campus police officer and identified as a student. Camera video review confirmed that the student did steal items of food from the cafeteria.

Oct. 18
A staff member reported at 2:00 p.m. that his vehicle trunk was damaged on Oct. 15, while the car was parked in lot K. A review of the camera video showed another car apparently striking the victim’s car while attempting to turn around in the lot. The investigation continues.

Oct. 18
A student reported that his bike was stolen from a bike rack southwest of the TC building. No suspect(s) are known.

Oct. 19
A non-student was contacted by a campus police officer at 4:30 p.m. in the library after a complaint was received that the subject was viewing objectionable material on a college computer. The subject was identified and escorted off campus.

Oct. 19
A student reported that his blue Yamaha motorcycle was stolen from lot A. Mesa Police were notified and took a report.

Oct. 19
A staff member reported that her vehicle received minor damage to the right rear bumper while it was parked in lot K at 7:40 p.m. There is no suspect information available.

Oct. 20
A campus police officer responded to the Theatre Outback on a report of a subject disturbing at 6:25 p.m. The highly intoxicated and argumentative non-student was removed from the theatre to the College Safety office. A ride home was arranged for the subject and he was warned not to come back on campus.

Oct. 25
A student at 1:00 p.m. became disruptive in the library when asked to comply with the rules designed to prevent persons from bringing food or beverages into the building. The student was contacted a short time later by a campus police officer and the situation was resolved.

Oct. 25
A student athlete reported that person(s) unknown removed money from his gym locker while he was in basketball practice at 2:45 p.m. The locker had not been secured with a lock. The investigation continues.
Oct. 25
A student reported that person(s) unknown stole her purse from parking lot I, after she inadvertently left the purse in the lot, while loading her car with other personal items. She returned several minutes later and could not find the purse where she had been parked.

Oct. 25
A student athlete reported that person(s) unknown broke into his locker while he was at football practice and stole his cell phone.

Oct. 26
A campus police officer at Red Mountain investigated a report from a faculty member that a student that threatened him during class the previous day. The officer met with the student and has forwarded the results of the investigation to the Associate Dean of Students.

Oct. 26
A minor non-injury motor vehicle accident between two students occurred in the visitor lot at 11:26 a.m. Relevant information was exchanged.

Oct. 26
A campus police officer responded to a situation where a student was disrupting a classroom in the LA building. The student was temporarily removed from the class and told to report to the Dean of Students office.
