Mesa Community College’s English Department is in the process of producing a new art and literary magazine titled, The Mesa Review. The magazine will include submissions from students currently attending MCC in categories such as poetry, fiction, personal essay, and black-and-white photography.

Arizona State University will be holding its annual Martin Luther King Jr. Breakfast Jan. 27, at 7 a.m., in the Memorial Union on campus. Music talent needed
Got musical talent? Then let Grounds for Thought, one of Mesa Community College’s on-campus coffee shops, know about it. Currently, the shop is in need of student artists to perform live at the shop from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Any type of music is welcomed, so long as the lyrics are appropriate for a college-aged crowd. Dec. 15
Two students were involved in a minor non-injury motor vehicle accident north of the visitor lot at 12:16 p.m. Information was exchanged between the drivers.
Dec. 16
A student made a delayed report of criminal damage to the passenger door of her pick-up truck, possibly while it was parked in lot L, south of the HIC, the previous day at 11:07 a.m. No suspect(s) are known.
Dec. 16
A student reported the theft of his mountain bike from the bike rack on the west side of the AD building at 1:40 p.m. No suspect(s) are known.
Dec. 17
College Safety officers responded to a report of a student disturbance in the BA computer lab at 4:58 p.m. The student voluntarily left the lab without further enforcement action being necessary.
Dec. 20
Several teenagers were able to get a Media electric cart to start and were in the process of driving it off the Red Mountain campus at 5:00 p.m. when they were interupted by a College Safety officer. The teenagers then fled the campus on bicycles. The situation is still under investigation.
Dec. 29
College Safety officers discovered damage to a snack vending machine on the north side of the BA building at 1:35 p.m. The damage was consistant with an attempted burglary of the machine, however, no money or product was taken. No suspect(s) are known.
Dec. 31
College Safety officers were contacted by Mesa Police officers who were attempting to locate a theft suspect who had run onto campus from the Fiesta Mall area at 6:39 p.m. The suspect was not initially located. Approximately a half hour later a College Safety officer observed the suspect in lot C, near the stadium, and was able to detain him until Mesa PD arrived.
Jan. 3
College Safety officers discovered damage to a water vending machine on the north side of the BA building. No money or product was taken from the machine.
There were two requests for medical assistance during the Dec. 15 through Dec. 20 time period, both involving students. One patient was transported to the hospital by ambulance.
There were two requests for medical assistance during the Dec. 29 through Jan. 3 period. Neither patient was transported to the hospital.
