With all the demonizing of racism and finger-pointing
about hate crimes, does no one else notice how very1984ish our society
has become?
Do we really want to be ruled by the “Newspeak” of Multiculturalism,
and the threat of being policed for “Diversity Thoughtcrime?”
When one talks of Feb.14 or Valentines Day,
one of two reactions are usually witnessed: a sweet almost twitterpated
excitement fills his or her face, or on the other side, a look
of dread, maybe even to the point of disgust
Apathetic
is the word I would use to describe many of my fellow students.
There are instances that rouse the same emotion in myself.
There are times it feels nothing is possible. I feel as though what
I say does not make a difference, or there is just too much bureaucracy
hindering progress.
Phoenix has done it again.
First it was the pipeline break that paralyzed the city’s
gas supply and caused pandemonium at gas stations all over the Valley
two summers ago
Then, it was the power surge at the APS substation that resulted
in Valley residents having to turn up their thermostats in the middle
of one of the hottest summers in recent history while waiting for
a transformer to arrive from Washington state.
It’s
Black History Month: do you think racism is dead or alive?
