Think Globally
The Center for Global Tolerance and Engagement
is kicking off its spring semester on Feb. 9, with a lecture entitled,
“What is Sustainable Development?” The lecture will
take place from noon to 2 p.m., and will be located in the Mesa
Community College library on the Southern and Dobson campus in room
LB145.
The Center for Global Tolerance and Engagement will also be holding
a table talk Student/Faculty Colloquium on Religious Issues. The
topic will be: Small is Beautiful: A Religious Economics in the
Kiva room Feb. 10, from noon to 1:15 p.m. The facilitators for this
event will be Keith Crudup and Tom Shoemaker.
Improving (and Preventing?) Refugee Conditions will be the theme
for the Center for Global Tolerance and Engagement lecture Feb.
15. The meeting will be in LB145 from 6-9 p.m. For more information,

Giving back
Mesa Community College will be holding its
first blood drive of the semester at the Southern and Dobson campus
on Feb. 1. The blood mobile will be by the clock tower by the Kirk
Center from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. For more information, call the Office
of Student Life and Leadership located in the Kirk Student Center

Follow the leader
The Red Mountain Campus will be hosting an Enlightenment Leadership
Retreat on Feb. 11. This retreat is open to all students who would
like to expand upon their leadership skills, make connections, and
boost their resume. For more information, please call the Office

Get involved, join a club
The Southern and Dobson location of Mesa Community College will
be hosting a Clubs Carnival on Feb. 14. This is a chance for new
and veteran students to connect to campus clubs and organizations.
Clubs will be out near the Kirk Center doing fundraisers and soliciting
for new members.
The same event will be taking place on the Mesa Community College
Red Mountain campus on Feb. 16. For more information, call (480)

Southern and Dobson campus.
Career Expo
The Red Mountain campus will be hosting a
Career Expo which will be open to all students on Feb. 16. For more

Bridgepoint visits Mesa
Bridgepoint College will be available to students by appointment
only, Mondays and Thursdays from 4-6 p.m. These sessions will each
be 30 minutes in length and can be arranged through the Transfer
Center in building 38. To make an appointment, call (480) 461-7425.
Phi Theta Kappa
The International Honor Society, Phi Theta Kappa, will be accepting
new members in the next few months. Informational orientation meetings
will be made available to all those interested in applying for possible
consideration.
The Orientation held on the Red Mountain campus will be on Feb.
14, at 2 p.m. in the Community Room. The following orientation dates
will be at the Dobson and Southern campus: Feb. 15, at 1:30 p.m.
in the Pima room; Feb. 16, at 6 p.m. in the Pima room; Feb. 17,
at 3 p.m. in the Papago room; and Feb. 18, at noon in the Pima room.
There are multiple requirements that must be achieved before being
considered by the IHR. For more information or for the list of requirements,

for all admissions is March 22.
Arizona meets Ireland
There will be an informational meeting for
all students who are interested in studying abroad in Ireland on
Feb. 8. The meeting will last from 6-8 p.m., in the Kiva room on
the Southern and Dobson campus.
Wildcats on campus
The University of Arizona will be holding a Table Visit on the Southern
and Dobson campus Feb. 10, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Kirk Center.
All students interested in attending the University of Arizona are
encouraged to stop by and discuss the admission process. For more
