Spring Break:
Location is key decision in weeklong break

Spring Break is quickly approaching and students are about to make one of the biggest decisions of the year: where to go?
Save up some money and take a trip to one of the hottest spots for Spring Break travel - Mexico. Mexico is home to some of the greatest beaches, restaurants and nightlife for a Spring Break atmosphere. However, if a student is looking to go to a popular place like Cancun then it is probably a little late.
According resortvacationstogo.com hotel rooms for two can range anywhere from $500 to almost $3,000, not including airfare.
Other hotspots in Mexico include Puerto Vallarta which is a great travel spot because of how geographically diverse it is. There are jungles, mountains, rivers and waterfalls; but like Cancun, it would cost close to an arm and a leg to book a trip this short in advance.
However, don’t feel that the money isn’t worth the fun you can have.
Vince Garibaldi, a freshman at ASU, made the trip last spring break and enjoyed it.
“It’s wild. The nightlife is great, the people are great and it’s a guaranteed good time.”
Another place to visit in Mexico is Rocky Point. “It was cheaper than Cancun and it’s just as much fun, so why not?” said Wyatt Davis, an MCC freshman, who will be returning to Rocky Point for the upcoming break.
For students who prefer to stay in the states, Six Flags in Los Angeles is another alternative.
“Me and my girlfriend met there two years ago and we’re going back to relive the good times,” said Al Rosa, Chandler-Gilbert freshman.
Sterling Starks, a freshman at MCC, is going to another hot spot for vacationing, Hawaii. Sterling said he had not yet been, but is excited for the upcoming break. “I don’t really know what to expect, I’ve never been and that’s really the main reason I’m going.”
Kevin Pullins, an MCC student, said he has done every Spring Break from Mexico to Hawaii.
“Your best bet if you’re a starving college student is to keep it simple," Pullins said. "Unless it’s a really special occasion or you have the money just do the good old road trip,”
Grab a couple buddies, split gas money and take a road trip to San Diego, Los Angeles or visit Disneyland. Los Angeles is about a five to six hour drive and when you’re with friends the drive itself can be a lot of fun. A road trip to Los Angeles would be a lot less pricey than a trip to Mexico.
