T-bird Cafe served by same food groupAramark, a company that provides food services, management, and uniform apparel has signed a contract to take over operations at Jazzland Cyber Café.
Aramark already provides and manages the many different dining options in the Thunderbird Café.
Fortune Magazine in 2006 ranked Aramark number one in “America’s Most Admired Companies.” In 2005, Food Management Magazine ranked Aramark as number one, a top their list of the top 50 management companies.
Serving nine different countries, Aramark is a common name among school district and higher education campuses.
Many students enjoy the Jazzland café everyday. At Jazzland students can use computers, relax on the comfortable chairs or listen to some live music.
“I come here all the time.” said Peter Fontana, a vocal performance major. “I love the environment with the chairs and of course, it is nice when someone plays the piano. And I also can get the Internet.”
Students can expect minor changes to the already excellent service from the employees.
“There will not be any major changes,” said food service director John Milburn, “There will still be the same kind of menu options, we will just be using a different brand of beans and other products. There will also be the addition of the salads and sandwiches which will be for sale.”
In addition to the new food options, there will also be a monthly drink special.
“They have always been very nice,” said Guiselle Rincon, a business major. “I can notice some more advertising that wasn’t there before. But the environment is still really comfortable and relaxing.”
Students should expect the real change to happen over the summer.
“All the prices will pretty much stay the same, some will even go down.” Milburn said. “There will be new signs and advertising, but the overall feel and environment will be the same. We just want to expand and give the students products they want.”
