Not having equal rights for both sexes un-American
On March 9, the National Center for Men filed a suit entitled Roe v. Wade for Men in the United States district court in Michigan.
This is a very important case and it is important for everyone to understand what is really going on and what the implications are. Briefly, it states that men have just as much of a choice as woman to decide whether or not to claim responsibility for a child.
Under current law a woman is given the right that is being denied to man. The only way to look at this situation is in terms of rights.
Everyone has the rights that are unalienable; the sole purpose of the Bill of Rights was to guarantee those rights. These include life, liberty and property. One of the greatest things about rights is that everyone has them, regardless of age, sex, religion, color, or anything else.
This is an integral part of what makes America the great country that it is.
Somehow this was forgotten and men are being denied a right that belongs to them. If women have a natural right to abdicate responsibility for a child, then by the same right so do men.To believe anything else as is un-American as it gets.
Don’t believe me?
Ask Thomas Jefferson or Abraham Lincoln. They said, respectively, “No man has the natural right to commit aggression against the natural rights of another, and this is all from which the law ought to restrain him (or in this case her)” and, “Those who deny freedom to others deserves it not for themselves.”
It is very clear. If women have the right to be pro-choice, then men have the right to be “pro-I-don’t-want-the-child, so-I-will-not-pay-child-support.” If men don’t have the right, then women CANNOT possibly have the right either. Be careful of the Dichotomy.
Those in opposition of Roe v. Wade for men either have no concept of rights or are extremely un-American.
Or worse yet, both. If men are denied this right, America will become less American and I will be ever so much less proud to call myself American, the country of not so-equal rights.-Brad Burnham, MCC student
Half-naked man photo and penis illustration offensive
I find it highly offensive that you would publish an article with children on the same (front!) page of a half naked man. Perhaps the editors and writer would think twice next time about the appropriateness of your articles.
Furthermore I would like to express that I was offended when I saw a graphic illustration of a penis on page 6. Was that really necessary?
