FEATURESSequels, comedies and action movies to heat up the summer
There is no better escape from the Arizona summer heat than to head over to a local air-conditioned movie theater.
“Mission Impossible III” starring Tom Cruise is being released on May 5. Cruise plays the returning Ethan Hunt, who has retired from his super spy lifestyle but was called back to confront the toughest villain he has ever faced.
For all of the diehard fans of Dan Brown’s best selling novel, “The DaVinci Code”, Tom Hanks will play famed symbologist Robert Langdon who gets tangled up in the murder of a Louvre Museum curator.
For X-men fans, there is what is said to be the last ‘X’ film to made is coming out May 26th.The mutants are given a final choice: retain their mutant traits and learn how to accept their alienation from the “normal” people in the world. Or, they can give up their powers forever and become human.
Piracy security guard Lori Regnier is employed with all valley wide movie theaters monitoring the premiers of upcoming flicks.
One premier that she just worked for is the September 11 film “United 93.”
This movie is the true depiction of the fourth hijacked plane on September 11 starring Opal Alladin and Erich Redman.
“This is going to be a very hard movie for people to watch,” Regnier said. “Although it is something that we as Americans do not want to relive, it is a part of our history that will follow us for the rest of our lives. My hat goes off to the filmmakers for telling this story with the utmost delicacy and respect possible. It is extremely factual and will without a doubt, stay on your minds for days maybe even weeks after the viewing.”
For something more pleasurable and downright hilarious, try “The Breakup” starring Jennifer Aniston and Vince Vaughn. Aniston plays Brooke, a woman who has just broken up with her bus driving, live-in boyfriend Gary (Vaughn).
Neither one of them will agree to move out of the house. So in turn, they go about their everyday lives while still being in each other’s company. The laughter begins June 2.
