Tutoring options aid in success
Students have access to different tutoring styles

A free service with multiple locations, flexible hours,
and three different types of tutoring, the learning enhancement center at
Mesa Community College is designed to give students the tools they need to
succeed in a wide variety of courses.

Internet courses have increased in popularity and are
convenient for both MCC students and instructors.
Students and teachers seem to enjoy distance learning, the term given to
this type of instruction and course taking.
“It’s constantly growing,” said Paul Hietter, the MCC
distance learning coordinator and a member of the history department faculty.
Needs still great in Katrina’s
aftermath

Since hurricane Katrina devastated the Gulf Coast, aid
has been pouring in all over the country and MCC has been no exception.
Students and faculty members alike have been very generous, according to
Judith Taussig, the school’s dean of student affairs.

For countless years, the library has helped many Mesa
Community College students conduct research with an ample supply of books,
computers and periodicals; or has it? For the most part, both students and
teachers agree that the library is sufficient when they use them. However,
not everyone is on the same page.
Mid-decade census count to determine
funds, jobs

The 2005 mid-decade Maricopa County census survey will
determine how Arizona government divides almost $1 billion in revenue each
year, bring in additional federal funding and generate jobs.
