MCC Happenings

Students had the opportunity to search through more than 150 employers at the Career Expo on Oct. 12. in hopes of finding a job. The event took place in the middle of the campus and had a good response from students. Soup, a piece of bread, and a cup of water were all given to people who paid $10 for a hand-made bowl at the Empty Bowls event (right) on Oct. 19. All profits made were given to Paz de Cristo.

Half will pay the price....STDs

One in every four teenagers contract an STD each year.
One in two sexually active persons will contract an STD by the age of 25.
More than half of all people will have an STD at some point in his or her lifetime.

 


‘Hollywood Vegas feel’ gives options to club-goers

Real-estate price hikes are not the only result of California and Nevada residents moving into the valley. Many clubs in the Metro Phoenix area have taken on a Hollywood Vegas-type feel.

The 2005 Native American Recognition Days honored MCC student, Suegin Jensen, and adjunct faculty member, Sergio Maldonado. The reception and banquet was held at the Heard Museum in Phoenix Oct. 13.

 


Fire eating, freak shows all part of Halloween fun

Local sites have been setting up this month to celebrate Halloween 2005 – opportunities for all to visit haunted houses and catch a scare.
