NEWS‘Hollywood Vegas feel’ gives options to club-goers
Real-estate price hikes are not the only result of California and Nevada residents moving into the valley. Many clubs in the Metro Phoenix area have taken on a Hollywood Vegas-type feel.
For those who like the glamour of Las Vegas, but want the country atmosphere of Arizona, one of the newest hot spots may be for them.
Q Lounge, which is located at 8501 N. 27th Ave, opened in September and has already gained a loyal following.
The bar, described as a “Metro Coyote Ugly” plays a variety of music, including country, rock and hip-hop.
Unlike other country bars, Q Lounge features two VIP rooms as well as several exclusive sectioned off areas.
Although the lounge can cater to an elite crowd, the staff knows how to keep it simple. The lounge features a multitude of plasma screen TVs and is located right next to Bobby-Q restaurant.
For people who don’t enjoy country music, The Pussy Cat Lounge maybe a better fit.
Decorated with dark wood, red velvet, chrome a low lighting, the interior offers a seductive atmosphere.
This straight from Las Vegas club has several alluring features such as dancing poles, a swinging chair and an array of pretty faces.
The Pussy Cat Lounge is located on 4426 N. Saddlebag Trail, in Scottsdale.
Another place to get into the sophisticated atmosphere is the E4 on 4282 N. Drinkwater Blvd. in Scottsdale. Named after the four elements, this fashionable nocturnal paradise knows how to cater to the “who’s who” of Scottsdale.
“I know the prices turn away a lot of college students, but I definitely think this is a place that everyone should go to at least once. It’s the perfect place for a girl’s night out,” Stacie James, a former Los Angeles resident said. E4 features four rooms, each representing a different earthly element.
Another feature that sets E4 apart from the rest is the AWOL (Alcohol without Liquid) that is featured in the air room.
This controversial machine runs for approximately 10 minutes and allows guests to inhale the alcohol as a vapor, giving them an instant buzz.
The Door on Rural and Curry is a newcomer to the Dos Gringos family and was created to give people a place to relax, if they can find it.
The Door has no sign or front door. Instead patrons must find their way to the bouncer on the side of the building.
From there you must go through a back-alley area to reach the door, where you must either know the password to get in, or have a key to unlock the door.
Dos Gringos is the Valley’s staple. Both the Tempe (1101 E. 8th St.) and Scottsdale (4209 N. Craftsman Court) locations offer a Mexican “spring break” type atmosphere.
Each location features festive decorations, no ceiling, and cheap Coronas.
“They may not be the most glamorous bar out there, but you can always have a good time at Dos Gringos,” ASU student, Christina Brady, said.
