Fire eating, freak shows all part of Halloween fun

Local sites have been setting up this month to celebrate Halloween 2005 – opportunities for all to visit haunted houses and catch a scare.
Located on Power road just south of Elliot, Alien Extreme Challenges visitors to make their choice of which alien crash site to visit first. Alien kings and infected scientists run rampant around visitors who venture in the dark.
Alien Extreme is open anytime past 5 p.m. for the rest of this month and even after Halloween. Alien extreme and the 10-acre corn maze at this site will be open for most of the month of November.
Visit alienextreme.com for ticket information, discounts, directions and hours of operation.
“We’re decking it out, it’s going be a freakin’ haunted house in here,” Scott Ford said. He is the man behind the bar at The Sets, located on the southeast corner of Mill and Southern Avenue.
With five unique environments, this is the only place to get your kicks out before the big night. Squeeze into that leather and don’t forget the chains and whips because it is The Black Friday Halloween Fantasy Ball on Oct. 28.
Chris from Trash City has fused a night of screams, music, freaks, leather and spankings.
This is a 21 and older show, and it is preferred for people to go in costume. Be treated to a number of attractions: Live music by Vaeda, Auralast, a brief interlude with the Strange Family Circus who will amuse the senses with fire eating, snake play, and freak shows, followed by Sourmind at midnight.
Bondage wear and Fetish fashion show, thanks to Leatherworx by Erik, Tarot Card readings, a hookah den and an oxygen bar by O2 for added energy, as well as horrifying drink specials.
The Cheeky Monkeys will be there tantalizing the eyes, and the women of the AZ Roller Derby will be at a spanking booth. Call Trash City at (602) 953-2728 for tickets and information. Venture down to Tempe’s own Mill Avenue to join the hundreds who will be drinking, screaming, and having a good time. Stop by the Library to see the staff members who will be dressed for the festivities.
“Halloween was on a Sunday last year and it was shoulder to shoulder people, so we’re expecting a lot this time,” said Nick Kelly, who enjoyed Halloween in Tempe last year.
