Festivities kick off to celebrate month

 

Students gathered in front of the Kirk Center on Feb. 1 to celebrate the beginning of African American History Month. Events will be highlighted throughout the month for students, staff, and faculty members to attend.

Adults who postponed their education and are now returning may want to inquire about Adult Women Actively Reentering Education.
AWARE is a club at MCC devoted to students seeking assistance with reentering school.

Consumers unaware of clothing labels’ deeper meaning

I have probably seen his face more times on T-shirts, hats and other novelties more so than Mickey Mouse’s image these days. He’s been dead for close to forty years, yet his legacy still lives on among T-shirts, hats, posters and the like. Perhaps you even own a shirt or poster with his face on it. Che Guevara’s face is, well… everywhere.

 


SPORTS
Returning athletes lead MCC track team

One of the most successful sports teams over the years at Mesa Community College is ready to gear up for another season.
The Thunderbirds track and field team will return almost every athlete from the men’s side and most from the women’s. Head Coach Steve Jacobs hopes this will be a huge factor as they look to follow their second and third place finishes in the region last season with an equal or better finish this season.
