Letter to the Editor:

Seeking more prominence

The importance of BSU (Black Student Union) as an organization and the Multicultural Center as facilitators, has become a great one.

I believe that we are making movements into many positive directions. Black Student Union is not just reserved for students of color, it’s for anybody. We are an active group of individuals that span beyond just Black History Month.
We constantly try and get the word out but know that you cannot force people to be a part of something. Often, people need to see it for themselves to see what we are about and what it is we stand for as a club and students.

We are making progress, and that’s why we continue to do the events and functions that we do. We aim to let the masses know what’s up and what’s going on their campus and throughout the community, and I believe, as a whole, we are making a difference.
