Snakes sizzling
Baseball season is here and the Arizona Diamondbacks have stormed hard out of the gate. As of April 11, they are 7-2 with a win streak of six consecutive games.
Playing well for the Dbacks has been Orlando Hudson. A leadoff hitter last season, Hudson has spent the early part of this year in the three spot for Arizona and has performed well.
In the Diamonbacks’ April 9 game against the Reds, Hudson hit an eigth inning solo home run, his second of the season, that proved to be the game winner.
The pitching staff has also been solid for Arizona. Tony Pena and Brandon Lyon have provided solid relief innings for the Dbacks and reliever Jose Valverde already has four saves on the year, tied for the leauge lead.Playoff time
The Phoenix Suns have been waiting a long time to get the playoffs started and now they are almost here.
As of April 11, the Suns are 58-19, two games ahead of the San Antonio Spurs for the second seed in the Western Conference. San Antonio has the tiebreaker, but with only five games remaining, it is likely Phoenix will secure home court advantage through the first two rounds of the playoffs.
A likely first round opponent for the Suns is the Los Angeles Lakers. The Suns played an exciting first round series against the Lakers last season which Phoenix won in seven games.
