John Garrison, a 36 year-member of the Art Department, said, “The music department and theater department have their performances, and this is our performance.”
Along with visual appreciated, the Art Department work emphasized their mission to promote cultural diversity with their show.
“We are capable of a variety of things, besides just what we teach,” Garrison said.
“I have been blessed to have a job I love, so few people have this opportunity,” Garrison said. “It is also an opportunity for us teachers to show what we do personally versus what we teach,” Garrison said.Linda Speranza, printmaking, painting, and design teacher at MCC, displayed four different ceramic pieces at the show.
“It is important to show our students that we too are working artists and we continue to grow and change,” Speranza said.
