Are psychics believable and worth the money?

Is there a new man or woman in the future? How about a new baby? Graduation? A new house? A psychic may be able to answer those questions, but are they legitimate or just a scam in it for the money?
MCC student Sasha Streeter, a nursing major, who has her own astrologist that charges $360 per reading, said, “I believe some are legitimate and some, yes, are for a money scam.”
Pandora’s Box, located at Ray and Guadalupe, features various types of readings, which include tarot card readings, palm and face readings, numerology, astrology, and many more. Prices vary from $40 per 30 minutes to $60 per 60 minutes.
Many students may be afraid of the outcome of what the psychic would tell them.
MCC student Ali Wilson, an Elementary Education major, said she had curiosity about psychics and what they have to say. “I would love to visit a psychic just to see what they say, but I’d be afraid if they told me a close loved one is going to die, or something like that,” Wilson said.
Whether to follow the psychic’s advice or not is the question. Many students believe what they want to believe, and ignore what they don’t want to hear.
“I went to a psychic a few years ago and she told me that I was going to move to California and find the man of my dreams there. We were supposed to have two kids later on and live happily ever after; she said that was going to happen in the next year. I don’t really remember anything else she told me. Needless to say, I ended up staying in Arizona and having a baby. I got married six months ago to the man of my dreams. That was the last time I visited a psychic, and I don’t plan on going again,” said MCC student Janice Miller, a general studies major.
So, what qualifies a psychic as a psychic? Christopher LaPrath, an experienced reader in healing readings said that he used to study magic and believes if there is a spiritual sense in someone, studying magic could improve they skills and connections to other worlds.
Before someone plans to see a psychic, the best advice is to consider the source.
Is the psychic by phone or in person? They may be legitimate by phone, but who knows who’s on the other end of the phone line. In person you may get a better feeling if they are legitimate or not.
Visit a psychic who specializes in questions or what a person wants to know.
Next, consider the price, make sure it is affordable and will not make a huge dent in a wallet. What are the reasons for visiting a psychic? Decide whether it’s to ask some questions or to have the psychic read things, such as a palm reading or tarot reading. Also, prepare questions to ask, whether from family to careers, life to death.
Ask family and friends for recommendations, many psychics do not advertise or only go through their house. Call around to several psychics, interviewing them on background and experience, and ask for prices. Go with the gut feeling, if the psychic sounds fishy or money-hungry, he or she probably is.
Remember, psychics are not a quick fix, especially if the person finds themselves visiting a psychic often: What may be needed is a deeper exploration of the issues involved that only a trained therapist or counselor can provide.
