Summer road trips need planning to be successful
The scent of poorly planned road trips is in the air, but why not do it right this year and plan out an unforgettable summer road trip?
It’s time to get out of this state and head somewhere cool. Before the gang heads out though make sure the following things are planned out so this year’s summer trip goes over smoothly and doesn’t end up as another road trip disaster.
First off, pick a destination. Pick somewhere that will meet everyone’s vacation needs.
After a place has been chosen, pick the route to travel by. There are many ways to get to different towns across the country, so pick a route that is the most convenient and safe.
Then find out where and how much the hotels in the area are. Planning ahead is always good so if it is certain that the group will make it to a specific town by the end of a night, book a hotel room in advance.
If the gangs still unsure of where to go for this road trip here are a few prime vacations spots that are sure to make any person excited get to get away for awhile.
Glenwood Springs, Colorado is an excellent place to go and beat the heat. With its friendly environment, beautiful scenery, and fun excursions Glenwood is the ultimate package.
While in Glenwood be sure and check out the worlds largest Hot Springs Swimming Pool that has three natural heated pools and two water slides.
While in Glenwood, be sure and head out to the Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park. This park is located on the top of Iron Mountain and the only way to get there is by riding in a tram that hovers 4,300 feet above ground level, up the mountain side.
Why stop the road trip in Colorado though? Jackson Hole, Wyoming, located in the Grand Tetons, is a wonderful place to visit.
In Jackson Hole there are numerous shops, restaurants, and attractions to keep anyone’s day full.
One of the most famous attractions in Jackson Hole is the Alpine Slide. Located on the side of Snow King Mountain, riders take a ski lift to the top where they begin their ride down the winding slopes.
While visiting Jackson Hole, be sure to check out Ripley’s Believe It or Not museum located in historic downtown Jackson Hole.
Now, if both of these destinations seem a little too far, California is just right up the road and offers plenty of exciting places to visit.
Only a 8 hours away from Mesa is the town of San Diego, California. With its nice beaches and fun tourist’s spots, it’s hard to be bored in this town.
Located in San Diego is the famous San Diego Zoo. Opened every day of the year, including holidays, the zoo has a variety of hours which are open to the public.
The zoo is home to hundreds of animals including giant panda bears, apes, tigers, polar bears, and a variety of reptiles.
The San Diego Zoo always has something going on and is fun for the whole family.
Also located in San Diego is SeaWorld. SeaWorld is also open every day of the year and has a variety of times that it is opened during the week.
At SeaWorld there are a many different rides and attractions including the Dolphin Discovery show, the Journey to Atlantis roller coaster, and not to mention the Believe - Shamu show.
