Campus Cable
The campus cable network is a television
cable system that distributes videotape
playbacks, news and other cable services,
a student information bulletin board, satellite
teleconferences, open captioning programs
for the hearing impaired and video based
distance learning classes. The library and
most campus classrooms have viewing capability
of the cable system.

Channels 28-52 used for Video Playback
Faculty and students may request a video
program be played back on the campus cable
network by calling the Media Center at 17687.
When the desired item is found in the On
Line Public Catalog (OPAC), it is important
to note the call number, which will help
greatly when locating the material. A Laser
Disc player is available on channel 52.
Channels 56 and 57
These channels are used to distribute live
interactive MCC videoconferencing classes
and events to and from remote sites.
Channels 58 and
59
Satellite channels provide programming such
as live NASA feeds, PBS resource programming
and special topic teleconferences. There
are many teleconferences available that
your department may be interested in purchasing.
The Media Center can receive and distribute
signals throughout the campus and help coordinate
the event. Please call Jan Coolman at (480)
461-7622 to arrange downlinking services.

Broadband Video System
The Broadband Video System is a way for students
and instructors to view video tapes located
in our Mesa Media Collection across the campus.
If your location is setup for broadband use
you will be able to use the telephone nearby,
to control the playback of videos requested.
In order to arrange for a video to be put
on Broadband, please call our main number
with the Title and Call Number and we will
give you a Channel Number for your presentation.

Dial *58____ ____ and listen for the beep.
After the beep, proceed with the keypad commands
below. If the line is busy, hang up and dial
the number below so that Media can reset the
channel. You must leave the phone off the
hook during playback to retain control.
Control your VCR or DVD with the following
numeric commands.

3- Fast Forward
4- Stop
5- Pause
6- On screen Display
7- Arrow left
