New SIS

When Will the New SIS be Available?

The new Student Information System (SIS) is scheduled to deploy July 1, 2005 with one exception.  In February, 2005, the roll out of the financial aid module will occur.

When Will College Training Occur?

Prior to the deployment, MCC plus the other Maricopa Community Colleges will be preparing their employees for working in the new system.   The District Project Leadership Team has developed a College Trainer Program to train the many “end users” at the colleges.  (End users are defined as staff, faculty and students who use legacy SIS and will continue to use the new SIS.)  The District Training Program is designed to train content experts at the college level on various functions within the new system.  For example, someone from our Records department is considered a ‘Records Content Expert’.  This expert would be identified as our college trainer for Records functions and trainer the end users, as appropriate, regarding those functions within SIS.

The week of November 15 – 18 began some of the initial training for the college trainers by District’s SIS training team.  MCC sent twelve employees from the areas of Financial Aid, Advising, Records, Admissions, Recruitment, Cashier Services, and Class Scheduling to be trained on the module – “Intro to Student Administration”.

Depending on the District College Training Schedule, it is MCC’s goal to provide training during the spring semester to the end users.
