I’ve been working
at Mesa Community College since July of 1996 when I started
working for Mike Sims in the Physical Science Department in
his Engineering Labs. I worked with Mike Sims for three years
as a starving student until Bill DeHaan offered me a job working
with him in ITS. Still starving, I did everything I could
to get in the good graces of Bill so I could get a permanent
job.
I have worked with
Bill for a little over four years now as a DBA/Programmer/Jack
of all Trades. I enjoy working for MCC and the challenges that
are presented to me.
My current duties include
taking care of all MCC email accounts, the MyMCC Portal, the servers,
and anything else that needs to get done.
While working at MCC,
I took classes at MCC and transferred the credits to ASU where
I obtained my B.S. in Computer Science in the Fall of 2000.
In my spare time I
work on getting in shape, reading, traveling, and getting out
more. So far I have traveled to Alaska, St. Maarten, Maui, Ixtapa,
and Cabo San Lucas. I have enjoyed all of them for different reasons.
Alaska is a very picturesque place to visit with lots to do. Maui
is a very nice place because of the lush landscape and awesome
beaches. St. Maarten is very nice because of all of the activities
to do. Ixtapa is a great place to relax. Cabo, as we all know,
a great place to party. I have plans to visit several other places
such as Italy, England, France, and Russia. I will try to visit
as many of the places as I can and I will get an online album
up when I can.
I’m currently
trying to decide what I’m going to do about my future. I’ve
considered a few things:
• President of the United States seems out of my league
since I’m not a good liar.
• Seeing about getting a Masters Degree but not sure at
the moment.
• Buying a house
• Learning a language, now which one will it be?
• Construction running one of the really big dump trucks,
always wanted to do that since I was a little kid
Hobbies:
• Reading, more for work than recreation
• Hiking
• Traveling
• Computers
• And much more...
