CTL Website – A Fresh Redress

Just in time for Valentine’s Day, the CTL announced the release of its new website. As indicated in the email announcement, the site was designed to:

  • Organize and provide web access to the growing number of CTL tools and resources
  • Provide information about the programs and projects that are coordinated through the CTL

Started back in October 2004, the work on the site was conducted as a team effort using one main web developer, two secondary web developers, and about ten content contributors. The entire site was created using a template design for graphics, format, and style attributes with back-end programming conducted by the site developers. Content developers worked within the site and were able to add information directly to the created templates. This saved hours and hours of time on the part of the developers as they could focus on the design and not content input. This process was made possible through the use of software (Macromedia Contribute) designed for such a purpose.

The new site provides immediate access to CTL programs and support resources and allows users to:

  • Download, print, or view CTL  help documents and instructional resources
  • Get information about and apply online for programs such as Colloquy for Adjunct Faculty Experience (CAFÉ), Experimental Classroom, and the Distance Learning Mentoring Group.
  • Access updated news and articles related to education and technology
  • Contact CTL staff with questions or comments
  • And much more…

Visit the site when you get a chance and please send the CTL feedback (ctl@mcmail.maricopa.edu) on your experience.
