“Who you gonna call when”…(a) your LCD projector
in your classroom blows a bulb, (b) your browser blocks the pop-ups
you NEED to see, or (c) you can’t remember how to set up
that curly-Q animation in PowerPoint? Searching for the answers
to these and other technology related questions can often drop-kick
faculty into an endless phone or email loop being routed and
rerouted between the different services on campus. To avoid the
endless loop phenomenon, use the following guidelines for contacting
the different technology support services on campus:
Support resources for technology and pedagogy needs related
to on-campus and online teaching and learning
- Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL)
Support resources for telephone and computer software and hardware
problems
- Technology Support Services (TSS)
Support resources for classroom technology including projectors
and audio/video equipment
So, did you figure out who to call for each of the situations
mentioned above? The LCD bulb would be Media Services,
the pop-ups would be Technical Support Services, and the PowerPoint
animation would be the CTL. |
