There are always two views.   February 2002 Edition

Viewing the MyMCC Portal's Class Rosters:

A number of faculty have expressed concern over what information their students have access to in the MyMCC Portal class roster pages. Listed below are two screen captures of the student roster for a section of History 105 that should alleviate any concerns that faculty might have concerning access to information.

The first capture consists of an instructor's view.  As you can see, instructors have access to a variety of course tools, student contact information -- including e-mail address, phone number and street address (phone numbers and street addresses have been blocked out for this example), and a link that allows instructors to e-mail the entire class.

The student view below demonstrates that students only have access to their instructor's e-mail address, links to various tools set up by the instructor, and other students' e-mail addresses.  Students cannot access the link that allows for e-mailing the entire class, and they cannot access any other student information except for e-mail addresses.
