Untethered ! Wireless is here in a BIG WAY !

The power of the internet is now available to all faculty, staff, and students at MCC with no strings attached !

For the first time ever at MCC, internet surfers can bring in personal computing devices such as laptops or PDA's and attach to the MCC network and the internet through a secure connection. This is a huge step in providing access outside the traditional brick and mortar structures.

We have already witnessed students in the cyber café using their own laptops to connect to the internet or web based instructional applications. Instructors now have the ability to freely roam around Dobson and Southern AND Red Mountain without any rebuilding of the desktop, a huge time savings. We can now provide wireless usage statistics which we were never able to do before. Our other Maricopa colleagues can attend meetings or events at MCC and gain access to the wireless network without any system reconfiguration.
