Distance Learning Review/On-line Degree Committee

This committee is preparing the college’s “Request for Institutional Change,” which may be submitted with the self-study report. The Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association requires that colleges apply for, and receive, formal approval to offer an Associate of Arts degree through on-line delivery of courses and services. The committee examines MCC’s on-line degree in relation to published Best Practices, and answers six questions related to institutional change required by the Commission. After careful consideration of all of the factors involved in preparing an institutional change request to offer on-line degrees, the committee recommended postponing the request until a later date.
