Meetings With Special Groups

In order to build awareness and to gain input or address questions, the self-study coordinator and/or members of the resource committee met with the following groups:

  • MCC Department Chair Seminar• August 23, 2003 • Discussion focused on the accreditation self study and the role of the department chairs.

  • MCC New Faculty Orientation • September 12, 2003 • An overview of the self-study process was presented as well as ideas for how new faculty could get involved. [Powerpoint, 56K]

  • MCC Student Outcomes Committee • October 9, 2003 • The self study and Criterion Three were discussed in relation to the college's outcomes assessment program.

  • Commission on Excellence in Education • February 26, 2004• An overview of MCC's ten-year accreditation self study was presented to community members followed by roundtable discussions. [Powerpoint, 74 K]

  • MCC Department Chair Meeting • May 3, 2004• An update on the progress of the self study was presented.

  • MCC Department Chair Meeting • October 4, 2004• Discussed the status of the self-study report and the role chairs will play in preparing the resource room and during the March team visit.
  • MCC Faculty Senate Meeting • October 7, 2004• Discussed the accreditation self-study process, criteria, timeline and report.

  • MCC Student Services Leadership Meeting October 21, 2004• Presented an overview of the college's self-study process and discussed the accreditation self study as it relates to student services.
  • Mesa Community College Alumni Association Board January 25, 2005• Briefly discussed the importance of accreditation and what it means to students and the community. The new criteria, self-study process and upcoming team visit were also addressed.

  • Mesa Leadership Training and Development Meeting • February 4, 2005 • Future community leaders learned about MCC's self study and its role in shaping the future of the college. The significance of accreditation and the new criteria were also discussed. [Powerpoint, 57K]

  • MCC New Faculty Orientation • February 4, 2005 • Information about accreditation and the self study were presented. The new criteria, several college strengths and challenges, and ideas for how new faculty could get involved were also discussed. [Powerpoint, 109K]

  • Commission on Excellence in Education • February 8, 2005 • An overview of the accreditation self study and a summary of strengths and future challenges were presented. The Higher Learning Commission’s team visit and the community’s role were also discussed. [Powerpoint, 78K]

  • ASMCC and Student Leadership • March 2, 2005 • The accreditation self study, its importance, student involvement and the Higher Learning Commission’s team visit were discussed. [Powerpoint, 105K]

  • Red Mountain Employee Council • March 2, 2005 • Highlights from the accreditation self study and the self-study report were presented. The Higher Learning Commission’s team visit and what it means to the college community was also discussed. [Powerpoint, 119K]
